CASE FILE 004 Commercial & Strategic Transformation

Borcelle Boutique

End-to-end advisory to strengthen Borcelle's commercial presence, restore liquidity through an inventory strategy and evolve the boutique concept into a new fashion-house vision.

Initial Situation

Borcelle began as a fashion boutique holding roughly $10.000.000 COP in inventory. The business had garments ready for sale, but needed to turn part of that stock into cash without resorting to a conventional clearance sale that would have sharply eroded its commercial value. At the same time, we identified the need to strengthen its digital presence, build commercial momentum and explore new avenues for the brand's growth.

Strategy

The challenge was never just about selling garments. It meant turning the existing inventory into cash while, at the same time, discovering what Borcelle could become.

We designed a commercial strategy built on split payments: the customer paid 50% of the purchase value upfront and settled the remaining 50% later, within roughly fifteen days to a month. The approach made buying easier, moved inventory and recovered a significant share of the capital.

The commercial experience revealed a bigger opportunity: Borcelle did not have to remain a boutique. Out of that process came the vision of a fashion-house model, capable of developing design, production, image, experiences and new lines of business around fashion.

The strategy also left a lesson: trusting people can open commercial doors, but it must go hand in hand with sound follow-up and financial safeguards.
